To prevent water hard bypass and ensure clean regeneration cycles, follow these best practices when refilling your salt brine tank:

• Salt Level: Keep the salt levels at least half full in the brine tank at all times. Allowing the salt level to fall below the water line causes water hardness leakage during regeneration.
• Purity Matters: Always use certified 99.7% pure compacted salt tablets. Using unrefined crystal salt introduces clay, sand, and dirt, forming a thick muddy sludge that clogs the brine suction valve.
• Prevent Bridging: Avoid dumping salt into a tank that has sticky salt crusts (bridging) on the sides. Break down any salt bridges before adding new tablets.
