Determine the exact resin capacity and system size you need to treat your water hardness efficiently.
Sizing Parameters
Average: 150 Liters per person per day.
Get this from a test. E.g. Jaipur is 400-800 PPM.
Calculated Softener Sizing Requirements:
Hardness Load to Remove (Grains/Cycle):0 grains
Recommended Resin Volume:0 Liters
Recommended System Class:Standard 25L Unit
Est. Salt Needed Per Regeneration:0.0 kg
How Sizing Calculations Work
Water softener sizing is determined by the total mineral hardness (expressed in grains) that the system must filter out between regenerations. The formula is:
Total Grains = Daily Usage (Gallons) x Hardness (Grains Per Gallon) x Regeneration Interval (Days)
We convert Liters to Gallons (1 Gallon = 3.785 Liters) and PPM to Grains Per Gallon (17.1 PPM = 1 Grain/Gallon). A standard liter of high-capacity cation exchange resin can hold approximately 2000 to 2400 grains of water hardness before requiring regeneration with salt brine.
